NURTURING GOD'S CHILD PROGRAM
NURTURING GOD'S CHILD PROGRAM
Visitation of congregational member who become new parents and their new babies is very important to us.
Coordinator, Jayne Shively along with Debbie Frey try to visit each new baby with gifts, a flower and materials from our God's Child program.
This program includes monthly newsletters to parents sharing information about the spiritual, physcial and mental growth of a baby.
It includes songs, games, crafts and general information reminding the family that the church does care about them. Our main purpose is to encourage the family to teach their child to know and love Jesus as He knows and loves them. Parents are their first and most important teachers.
We emphasize prayer and attendance at Sunday School and worship services when the baby's schedule allows.
We often talk about Baptism and commitment to following the promises made at that time.
New babies are a gift from God and we welcome them into our midst.
We have a nursery with child care staff and/or parents are welcome to take babies to Sunday School class or worship services with them. (Please feel free to leave worship if the baby gets too noisy for others in close by pews, the pastor just asks that you use the side aisles. Some parents use the nursery for part of the service and go get their babies part way through, especially for communion blessings. Please do what is comfortable for you.)
